 Design and Features 

Brother HL-2270DW features the same size and design as the HL-2170W laser printer, it has a sleek, compact design. It measures 15 x 14 x 7 inches and weighs just 15 pounds –should fit into the smallest of desks and light to carry.

Away from the design, it has an easy-to-use control panel. The control panel is simple, it offers a bunch of LEDs for toner, drum, and error status. You may not refill often as this printer has a capacity of 250 sheets of standard 8.5-by-11-inch paper. It features a 100-sheet output tray on top, along with a front manual feed paper slot that handles the collection of various paper sizes including legal, letter, enveloped, A4, A5., A6, B5, B6, and executive.

Thanks to the wireless connectivity, this printer needs one power code to operate – this keeps your printer from being clogged with cables. Despite the small size of this printer, it offers a 10,000-page maximum duty cycle. The 32MB of internal memory in this printer enables you to send more documents through this printer at good speeds.

 Cartridge and Software 

The front lip folds down to unveil the toner port, just like other laser printers, you can take off the paper tray on the face of the unit to refill the toner. Just as we’ve mentioned, these Brother printers come with a built-in wireless printing feature, it can also be connected using Ethernet. Most monochrome laser printers in the market may not give you the fancy features you are looking for.

But the Brother HL-2270DW gives you three connection options including 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet, wireless 802.11 b/g, and wired USB 2.0. The USB port is found at the back of the printer with a removable panel for easy access to the paper path.

Brother claims that the HL-2270Sw is capable of printing at a top speed of 27ppm. The fast speeds of this printer don’t sacrifice the print quality. Certainly, it prints in black and white color, the text sizes are legible as they do or suffer from any text bleed. Print quality is on a good note.

Although toner is expensive, this printer gives you wireless and duplex printing. If you want copying, scanning, and other multi-functionalities, you will have to get an all in one printer.
