1. Login to your Skout account
The Skout mobile is available for both Android and iOS users. You can also make use of the web version. However, I recommend that you make use of the Skout mobile for this process. Open the app and start it.
2. Navigate to “Settings”
As soon as you enter the Skout mobile, you will notice a menu icon at the top left corner of the screen. Tap the icon, which should bring up a list of options on your screen. From the list, go to “Settings.”
3. Enable Deactivation

When you leave an inactive account for up to 60 days, Skout has every right to delete your account and your profile on the database permanently. If you want to keep your account inactive for a while, you should remember to reactivate it before 60 days.
In addition, you should remember that deactivating your account is not a permanent solution if you want to cancel your Skout account. Instead of deactivating it, you can mail Customer Support requesting the deletion of your account.
How Do I Reactivate My Skout Account?
If you have deactivated your Skout account long enough and think it is high time to get it active again, you can easily reactivate it from your profile. Since deactivating your account does not log you out, you still have access to the account.
To reactivate your Skout account, log in to your Skout profile and navigate to the Settings window. When you get to Settings, scroll down to “Deactivate Account,” which must have been turned on before, and switch it off. Your account will be reactivated immediately.
What Happens When You Delete a Skout Account?
Unlike deactivation, which is just a temporary closure, deleting a Skout account will permanently close your account. As soon as your email gets to the Support team and they acknowledge it, your account will be deleted immediately.
Please note that this action can not be reversed. Therefore, you should consider it well before deleting your account. The same applies to leaving your account inactive for up to 60 days. Skout will delete inactive accounts in this timeframe, and you can not get them back.

How To Delete Messages On the Skout App
If you wish to delete some or all your messages on the Skout app, there is a procedure that allows you to do that easily. Follow these steps to delete messages on your Skout account;
- Log in to your Skout account.
- Upon login, locate and tap the chat icon at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to your chats on the app.
- At the top right corner of your chats screen, locate and tap the pencil icon.
- When you tap the icon, you will find an option to delete your chats right in front of all your chats. Select which of the chats you want to delete.
Note that if you want to delete a chat on Skout, you will have to delete all messages with that particular individual and won’t be allowed to delete just one message.
Whichever one you choose to go for, be it deleting your account permanently or deactivating it for a while, it is solely up to you. However, it would help if you kept in mind that the latter is reversible while the former is not.
Also, If you don’t want to go through the stress of sending emails, you can deactivate your account on the app and let Skout themselves delete your account after 60 days. I believe this even gives you more time if you change your mind.
